Introduction
The above position has become available for a Garden Centre Manager at our West Coast Garden Centre. The purpose of this role will be to assume the overall responsibility for the profitable and/or efficient operation of a Sales Branch, with full accountability for administration, customer sales and services and for overall management and control of Branch Personnel.

Specification
•Initiate operational changes to improve the business effectiveness.
•Continuously analyse sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits.
•Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing.
•Promote the nurseries locally by liaising with local newspapers, advertising media and the community in general.
•Actively develops and manages all facets of retail expansion opportunities to meet business growth goals and implements growth strategies for nursery.
•Plans, designs, and facilitates layout and look of Garden Centre.
•Actively plans and promotes retail signage and marketing efforts in cooperation with Marketing.
•Monitors and analyses stock movement.
•Continuously analyse stock holding per department to ensure no stock shortage.
•Evaluates and controls purchases, quality, pricing and displays of all nursery products.
•Oversee stock availability, quality, and forecasts of stock requirements throughout the season.
•Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual operating and capital budgets; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions and execute stocktaking.
•Directs, through subordinate managers and staff, the ongoing operations and/development of the retail operations within the scope of the company’s mission and vision
Requirements
•Tertiary qualification in Horticulture / Management or similar.
•Minimum 6 years relevant experience.
•The ability to negotiate at all levels.
•Financial acumen
•Computer literacy essential.
•Valid drivers license
